Depending on how much you play, it still represents good value. WoW subs haven't kept pace with inflation in most countries. I'm still paid the same wage I was in 2008. I would not be surprised if this dints the number of Canadian subscribers. I'm not 100% sure I'm keep on paying this much for a game in which customer service has actually become worse, and botting is a bigger problem then its ever been. but it feels like a lot more all of a sudden. the perception of it finally breaking the $20 mark for a month is, I fully understand a perception, it's gone up only $3. $15 a month is fair (if not a bit high) for the QoS we get. coming next.might decide to quit again if so. The current sub cost is already equal to the price of a normal sub, so why raise it? Comment by Devylknyght on T15:13:54-06:00 I understand raising the price to accomidate different currency values.īut as you say here, the price is equal, why are they suddenly charging 3$ more canadian then they need to? You actually ensure that they get about $5 extra from your sub by buying tokens instead of just paying for it yourself :P Comment by Felplagued on T15:10:30-06:00 Also, you DO give them dollars by buying a token, lol. Not sure why it's pathetic? It's been quite long time since it went up. Comment by VanVelz on T15:07:16-06:00įree health care doe Comment by Briandris on T15:08:21-06:00Īs a canadian this is pretty pathetic of them but realize I don't give them a dollar and just use wow tokens. Nope this just pure money Grab Once again. Am I getting Northern Ontario Servers for this increase? lol Costs to run the servers / internet costs, etc have actually gone down unless they become the most inefficient programmers and database experts things would gone down not up. This on top of how they lock and stretch playing the game like a Mobile game over months and Months. What extra value are Canadians getting for paying $2.36 USD more Blizzard? With this arbitrary increase that appears to not follow any market patterns whatsoever is now costing Canadians $2.36 USD more per month to play. If you account for the value difference the original price Canadians paid was on par with the USD. This is literally just a tax on paying in CAD. It is literally just cheaper to buy USD and pay with that. It doesn't sound like a lot but that is almost a 16% increase over the USD cost per month. What extra value are Canadians getting for paying $2.36 USD more Blizzard? To clarify, if you pay in CAD, you are effectively paying $17.35 USD per month now, it was originally very close to the $14.99 USD (converted to CAD) mark any American pays now. With this arbitrary increase that appears to not follow any market patterns whatsoever is now costing Canadians $2.36 USD more per month to play than purchasing in USD. It has been in the past and no correction was ever made. It takes more CAD to make USD than it does USD to make CAD.
